Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these”.(Matthew 19:14)

Dear parents, Jesus wants all the children to come to Him, in other words we should allow these children to get to know the person of JESUS CHRIST. We have a mandate from the Lord to train our children in the fear of the LORD JESUS because God has given them to us for a well-designed heavenly purpose. So, our duties as parents is to raise them properly, in order for them to accomplish their heavenly purposes. And let me remind you that, we parents are just earthly guardians of these children, therefore we shall give accounts to their MAKER on how they were raised. Here are some of the aspects that I find amazing on how we should raise our children:

Daily/Frequent Home Fellowship with your children

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.(Hebrews 10:25).

Parents, Assemble your children frequently to read and meditate on the Word of God (BIBLE); Let your children delight themselves in the Lord, involve yourself fully in the education of your children, get to know the kind of friends they hang out with, monitor the kind of Tv program they are watching, organize family retreats, and family games. We have no excuses as parents if we can’t keep the harmony and fellowship with our children.Our busy schedule should not stop us from spending quality time with our children in the presence of the Lord. Remember what Jesus says…” For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20)

Your Children and their Friends

I am a friend to all who fear you, to all who follow your precepts.(Psalms 199:63)

The question of peer pressure is commonly spoken amongst parents as they strive to raise- up their children the best way they can. As parents, we have to know the kinds of friends our children hangout with. Friends can lead your children closer to GOD or lead them astray millions of miles away from the Lord. Thus, teach them how to choose their friends, invite their friends to the house and get to know them on a personal basis.If it is possible, get to know the parents of your children friends because it will tell you the kind of training and background they have. Parents, peer up with other parents who are Jesus Disciplines and who are living in light and the fear of God.Make them become your friends and let their children become your children`s friends.
